Progress on the 1:48 Cottage

Then it got december. I had bought the 1:48 advent calender of Petite Properties, and some time on my hand during the holidays, so I made some progress on the cottage. First a bit of wallpaper.
I didn't cut the wallpaper very well, and that was visible around the window. I made a well fitting piece of 'wood' to hide that.
Then comfortable bedding for the bednook downstairs.
And curtains of course for some privacy.
Another essential thing is the AGA. This is a Petite Properties set. I added the towel on the rail and handles on the lids. The hinges and handles on the front are just painted on.
It starts to look like a home! And evry home needs a cat... Or two.
I made these of Fimo. The left one stands on the bed, looking through the window. The right one gets a spot in the garden.
Next are the roof and the outhouse but they aren't ready yet.
As you can see in the background, I also started to age the house. Making it dirty like an old fairytale cottage would be.
Toiletpaper included!

Christmas Cards

I don't often make Christmas cards, even though I have the most wonderful stamps and dies. But I bought a new die in November, and I do try to use what I buy immediately... Yes, try... When you're ill, it's difficult to get crafting. But surfing the net and finding the most beautiful craft supplies is easy. And how better to cheer yourself up than buying craft supplies? Especially as I am addicted to buying...

But this die of a truck, trees, presents etc I did use after buying.
I used embossing powder on the wooden tree ornament. It really pops. I should tske out my other wooden ornaments and trest them the same. I hardly ever use them, but like this, I would use them more often.

A cute card

This is a card I made for a collegue, who just became father of a little girl.
The stampset I used is Den Sweet Den of Lawn Fawn.
It's almost perfect... I stamp the sound-stamp upside down. Of course it should be zzzzz... As it took a while for me to notice that, and I still think it's a cute card, I did send it. Call it handmade!

Taster session Willowing Arts

A few years ago, I started on the Project Life 2021 course of Tamara Laporte. But I got ill and I haven't got my health back since recently. So I will do the course, starting later this year, pity there won't be anyone else around in a Facebook group to do it with and inspire eachother, like you would if yoy take the course on the year itselve.

But at the end of each year there are free taster sessions to enjoy. Last year I only did one session, the first one of Tamara herselve, and this is the outcome.
My words for this session were: Patience, eyes set on the future. That was because my biggest problem then was my health. I was getting better, very clear but also frustratingly slow. Steady but so slow. I was just surviving, but now I can start living again!

Progress on the Woodcutter's Cottage

The Woodcutter's Cottage got a base. It's a lazy susan of Ikea, sawed to match a glass dome that I have.
I made a few furniture kits and draw out how I want the house and garden to be.
Here's the bench at the back.
Ain't this the cutest chair you have ever seen? I really love this scale!

The Woodcutter's Cottage

I haven't been working on miniatures for a long time, but last year I got the newsletter of Petite Properties (a UK shop in smaller scale houses and miniatures) and it got me itching. So I took my 1:48 cottage and started playing again.
It's the Woodcutter's Cottage of Petite Properties from their Enchanted Cottage Collection. It's a really lovely cottage, and it looks difficult to make with all its details, but it's a lasercut kit and fits really well. The same apllies to the furniture kits. Within minutes you have a perfect little piece to paint and enjoy!
Of course I changed my mind in the meanwhile. I don't think the bed fits here. I think two children beds will suit better. The parents must sleep in the bednook downstairs.
At the back there would be a shed for wood according to the set, but I think it's a perfect spot for a bench and climbing flowers against the wall.

Art Journal Page

Another Art Journal Page. Not the most impressive one, but hey, they can't be all gems, and I did have fun.
